Our History

A Journey Through Time

Step back in time and discover the story of the Murko family, who lived in the House from 1795 to 2004. Today, the house is a “living museum”, where more than 100 historical photographs and original artifacts reveal what life was like for Styrian vineyard workers in the past.

Mestni Vrh is a true paradise for nature lovers. Discover the Mestni Vrh trail, stroll through vineyards, and enjoy the breathtaking views of Ptuj and the surrounding hills.

On the grounds of Herberstein House, you will find chickens, ducks, mini sheep, goats, and cats roaming freely. Both children and adults will be delighted by the close interaction with these friendly and curious animals.

If you love hiking or cycling, Herberstein House is the perfect starting point for exploring nature and discovering scenic routes from Slovenske gorice, across Dravsko polje, and all the way to Haloze.

   Prachtig authentieke boerderij, heerlijk retro in een prachtige wijdse omgeving. Rond de boerderij de al beschreven dieren, van poezen tot herten. Heel gezellige poes, Puss, komt lekker bij je en... read more vindt aaien heerlijk. Bospoes en babypoes blijven iets meer op afstand. Heerlijk zitten in de tuin met een lekker glas wijn. Hebben we dan ook uitgebreid gedaan. 
 Fijne kamer met heerlijk bed, fijne douche en wc. Je waant je soms even in een museum. Natasha is een schat! Erg goed contact en erg gastvrij. Lekker kletsen maar dringt zich zeker niet op. Ik vond het erg gezellig dat we 's avonds een wijntje hebben gedronken waarbij Natasha van alles heeft verteld over het prachtige land. Tips voor verder reizen meegekregen en de volgende dag met een goed gevoel weer vertrokken. Een aanrader!

   Our stay (2 nights) at the Herbersteinhaus was amazing. We felt like being at the right place at the right time of our journey. 
 Where to begin? The surrounding... read more landscape is beautiful and there are many options for hiking or biking trips (which we avoided, because we just came from a great biking holiday :)). Ptuj is a nice little town. 
 What we enjoyed most during our stay was the relaxed environment at Natashas place. The animals relaxed and so did we. Just hung out in the garden under the cherry tree, reading, sleeping and watching the cats and ducks, goat, deers ...  and what else came by. Our room with our own bathroom was spacious and very comfortable. We also liked the modern-old-mix of the whole house a lot! Natasha is such a great host: She made us feel at home from the very first second. We had enriching conversations with her. It was very easy and felt very natural to share time (and space inside and outside the house) with her. 
 We definitely recommend a stay at this special place and are thankful for this experience.
